Skate Shop Day 2024

Skate Shop Day is the day that the skateboard community celebrates skateboarding's hubs, the foundations of every skate scene, the places that bring skaters together and the business's that loyally act as the glue for skateboarding as a culture.

Skate Shop Day is meant to get skaters into the shops to show love to the shops that support skateboarding every day of the year.  We hope you'll come out and celebrate with us on Saturday, February 17th.  
  
  
So what is Homebase doing for Skate Shop Day? Let me introduce you to Southside Joe!


  
He’s a positive, regular footed, hot cup of coffee that would like to welcome you to the Hot Cup Crew! The Hot Cup Crew was born out of the inspiration to reimagine Homebase as another business. Our guy Danny Finocchio brought this together perfectly by creating "Southside Joe".
 

 

Start Your Day w/ a Hot Cup! Free Coffee & Donuts at 11am:

We will be opening up at 11am for Skate Shop Day and serving up free coffee and donuts with the release of the "Hot Cup Crew" Collection. Designed by Danny Finocchio and printed locally by our friends at the LVAC.

  

We are also very proud to announce that we'll have our very own Homebase "Hot Cup Crew" Coffee Blend! Locally roasted on the southside by our friends at Monocacy Coffee, the Hot Cup Crew blend is a blend of Colombia and Sumatra beans that create an everyday coffee with notes of almond, cocoa and cedar. 

It will be available in 12oz coffee bags as well as coffee mugs. This drop is super limited, so make sure you start your day at Homebase with a hot cup on Skate Shop Day and fill up your mug with the Hot Cup Crew blend!

 

Anything left after the weekend will be available online starting Monday.

 

We will also have Skate Shop Day exclusive products like SSD Decks designed by the Gonz, Grimple Stix x Lance Mountain, Jerry Hsu There Guest Model and SSD exclusives from Real by Ishod and Wilkins that will only be available in select shops on Skate Shop Day.

 
  

Deluxe Blind Bag and Grimple Stix Limited Edition Board Raffle:

This year for Skate Shop Day, Grimple Stix enlisted the legend Lance Mountain to dawn a limited edition hand numbered Grimple Stix Guest Model limited to 1 per shop. They were also kind enough to send us a handful of blind bag boards. Both of which are releasing in participating shops for Skate Shop Day. 

  

Here at HB, we will be raffling off the opportunity to purchase these one of a kind boards. From 11-6pm customers can come in and get their complimentary raffle ticket at time of purchase. Raffle winners will be announced right before the Finger Flip Invitational.

THPS HiScore Contest sponsored by Homebase:
In-store from 11am to 6pm we will be hosting a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater hiscore contest for all of our customers on Skate Shop Day.
Each customer will have their chance to play 1 freeskate round to rack up the highest score possible before time runs out.   At 6pm, the person with the highest score will win a special prize pack from HB.

 

 

First Annual Homebase Fingerflip Invitational:

To close out the day, we will have the first annual Homebase Skateshop "Fingerflip Invitational hosted by Aidan Wilson. False alarm fingerboards was kind enough to send us prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. So pull up between 5-6pm to enter, the contest starts after we announce raffle winners.

We will also be rereleasing our "Finger Flip" collection in hoodies, t-shirts and ringer tee's, also available in youth sizes for the little shredder in your life!
